Wedding Teaser! (Livonia, MI Wedding Photographer)
September 4, 2011 Wedding/Couple
Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. ! I had so much fun photographing your wedding, Ryan and Lindsey. Here is an image teaser (1 week later). Stay tuned for more. I will try to get a full blog post up this week with a couple dozen more photos.

This shot was taken right after the wedding ceremony. Guests showered the bride and groom with bubbles. The two ladies in the background are the mother+grandmother of the groom. Cute, right?
Stay tuned for more everyone- I have a few Senior sessions, a modeling session and many more wedding photos to share.
I am super excited to share some images and info from a recent session with all of you. It was extra fun because I got to work with the very talented, Sumeyya, who creates amazing henna designs. You can view more of her work or contact her for hire, here. She does an INCREDIBLE job!

And, guess what? She will also be participating in my next 2 workshops. I’m really looking forward to her being there and adding some unique artsy elements to our already amazing line up of talent. Stay tuned for more of that…. the next workshop is less than 3 weeks away!!! Yay!!

Jackie from WGRD did a great job modeling the traditional Indian Bridal wear and Jessica Doggett applied flawless makeup! Both of these super talented ladies will also be at my Urban Drama workshop.

She had henna applied to both arms, on the top and bottom… the detail was so intricate and delicate.

And for those of you out there who are wondering …. Sumeyya makes her own henna paste. Its made from the leaves of the henna plant and has a lovely fragrance to it. She applies the paste using a small tube (shown below) on various parts of the female body.

The paste will harden and then flake off within hours of application. Beneath the paste is a reddish orange design (sort of a temporary tattoo) that typically remains on the skin for up to 3-4 weeks. Henna designs on the arms and feet is tradition for Indian/Pakistani brides. Visit http://www.hennacraze.com for more info.
Stay tuned for more upcoming sessions!
Mike and Kelsey. Hmmmm. What can I possibly say about them? (besides how wonderful they really are) Well, I can say one thing for sure. These newlyweds make each other very happy and they look pretty dang good doing so, too. lol. Don’t you agree? This duo has modeled in a couple of my workshops and I just adore them. Both have an appreciation for the arts and were super excited about doing some nontraditional wedding images of their OWN. And they traveled around quite a bit to prove it. Starting in Grand Rapids across the state and continuing through Canton and into Novi/Northville and stopping along the way a few times. Yea, so I dragged them all over the place: Railroad tracks and tunnel, lovely Autumn woods, and a not so clean urban graffiti area. But, hey, when it comes to finding beautiful spots I know what I’m doing. I’ll let the photos speak for me from here on out. Take a look at some their artistic images taken in a variety of settings:
The Autumn color and bright sunlight created a fairytale feel that I just couldn’t resist…

Even with the Fall colors, I LOVE me a black & white shot of a bride and groom any day of the week
the bride wore a veil made by her mother and was absolutely stunning in it
I love nature settings with long whimsical gowns such as this one…. it creates such a feeling of romance, doesn’t it?
And the groom didn’t look so bad himself…

Together they make magic….

And travel from place to place…

And urban place……. another of my favorite places to do portraits…. and these are some of my most favorite images ever.
Such beautiful contrasts make me happy
But while Kelsey posed, Mike enjoyed participating in his own ways….LOL

Thanks, Kelsey, for making my vision come to life with this one. You rock….

Yep, I think the groom approves of his bride …

Sorry, Kelsey’s Mom…… we all still love you.

Love you guys!! Hope you enjoyed this blog post of images and there are more coming your way, too! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. xoxoxo
On a gorgeous Autumn afternoon last week I met up with a fabulous couple for an outdoor engagement session. It was on Sweetest Day, too, which I think made it extra romantic.
Here is a little sneak peek into our session: Aren’t they a gorgeous couple?

A fav of mine…

Using a fisheye is lots of fun…. look at all of that fun Fall color!

Ryan’s idea, a pretty good one, huh?

And even though Fall color is in full force, we did take some shots at a really cool old barn area for variety…

I love how he makes her laugh….

I’m so glad they humored me and went into the pale colored field before leaving….
I had a super hard time narrowing down the images from this session- there are lots more! I cannot wait for their August wedding and am so honored they chose me to work with during this special time of their lives.
If you are getting engaged/married soon- send me an email or message on Facebook! I would love to work with YOU as well.
Stay tuned for upcoming posts…. I’ve got a gorgeous bride/groom, Fall Family, Dramatic model, a couple of children and who knows what else I will come up with to share with you all very soon.
Wedding Day Bliss (Northville, MI Wedding Photographer)
October 13, 2010 Wedding/Couple
I had the pleasure of working at Jeanen and Jeff’s wedding last week with the incredibly skilled, Tressie Davis Photography. Tressie and I have been friends for years (love her) and have come into the recent habit of shooting weddings together, so I was thrilled when she asked me to work with her on this one. I hope there are many more to come.
What a great time we have… especially with folks as AWESOME as this crowd. They were happy, relaxed, smiling souls ALL day- no complaints (not one!) . That kindness and welcoming warmth continued throughout the evening. It was my absolute pleasure to be at the Meeting House and Ballroom in Plymouth with them on their special day. I am going to just post a handful of shots here today. To see more, please visit Tressie’s site/blog.
Starting the day off meeting with the guys was a lot of fun.

But the two of them together had even more magic…..

Love in the air was abundant and evident throughout the day…

After the ceremony we walked around downtown Plymouth and spotted this beautiful Historic Home… who could resist stopping for a few shots there?

What a GREAT group of people. And I loved the flowers from Wesley Berry and gorgeous dress colors, too!

A bride dancing with her father is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding, so I felt that would be a nice image to leave you with.

Tressie and I will be working more weddings together next year- stay tuned.
Oh, and yes, I will be posting images from my Autumn Love workshop last weekend in my next Blog update. Visit my Facebook Page to see them now.
