Earlier this month I met up with a fabulous designer friend of mine, Amanda Rita. She works for Indigo Beauty Salon in West Bloomfield as a super talented hairstylist and makeup artist but is now also in school for fashion design. I photographed some of her latest dress designs on models, Lynn and Madison at a Novi hotel. Her brand is ARTalia. Enjoy the preview!

I’m also currently working on a project for some wall art to hang in the salon!
Oh and by the way…there is still time to book a Valentine’s Day Boudoir Session (Jan 31st deadline) Don’t miss out. :)
I wanted to share some images from a recent shoot that I had with a great team of ladies. It was my first shoot of 2012! Despite the super chilly temperatures we worked outdoors at a local park setting. I love working in nature and utilizing natural light. Windsor (model) was a great sport and really rocked the looks, provided by The Style Dolls. Make-up & hairstyling by: Minx Glamour.
We started off with a vintage wedding gown for the first look. And Windsor… well she is just gorgeous!

I decided to give this image a touch of vintage colour, as I felt if went well with the light and floral headpiece

More soft and romantic vintage apparel modeled in the field setting…..
The pastel colour and flowy fabric gave off such a feminine feel…..
The final look was also feminine and vintage … but I envisioned more of a fairytale image in the leaves and ivy. I love red and green paired together and was delighted with the artsy final result. Here are a few:
What a fun shoot! We’re all planning on collaborating again next month….so stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by.
Model Photographer: A day with Madison (Novi, MI)
December 22, 2011 Senior Portraits & Models
I want to take a moment to feature a new model I have been working with, Madison. She is only 15 yrs old and is already a star. I hope she goes very far and look forward to working on some projects with her during the next couple of weeks. Have a look at what we were up to. This session was a natural light one. The following three images are meant to be rather ethereal with the bright light and ivory lace.
The Reverie Series, 1-3
Corinne, a local hat designer, brought by her one of a kind creation for us to use at this shoot! How fun. Can’t wait to see more from her.
And believe it or not…. we even headed outside (in the freezing cold December temperatures) to grab this shot! I love a little drama.
Stay tuned for more! I have some great new posts coming up.
Have a peek at some images from a recent photo shoot with model, Jessica. It was such a fun time and we had such beautiful light that day.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay tuned for more upcoming images.
I really enjoy taking photos outdoors. Using the environment to create a unique element in an image makes me smile a little on the inside. Yes, I admit it. It keeps my job fun and almost always guarantees that the experience will never quite be the same. In the beautiful state of Michigan this is true even while using the exact same location on multiple occasions. That might be difficult for you to believe but its really TRUE. With seasonal changes occurring so frequently (every few months) the scenery flaunts tempting new elements every few weeks or so.
Recently I have been working with some terrific models on outdoor photoshoots. These outings have been more artsy in theme and involved full creative teams including wardrobe styling, make-up artists, hairstyling and sometimes photo assisting. Although the below images appear to have been captured during the peak of Autumn’s colorful foilage change they were truthfully taken quite a bit later….in early to mid November and were processed in post to give off a painterly or slightly vintage vibe. Have a look at some examples from some of last months (extra chilly) photography work :

My first time working with fashion model, Abigail- lots of fun !
And Kayla is always a dream to work with…..

Thanks so much for stopping by. I will try to get some additional environmental modeling portraits up this Winter. Possibly involving SNOW?! Stay tuned.
