So, a couple of days ago I met up with a totally adorable little boy named Brandon. He brought his 12 week old puppy, Hiccup, along with him on the photo shoot. Awwwwwwwwww…. so cute, right?

I also took some of him alone in the beautiful nature setting:

I guess I never really noticed just how many holes were on the ground on these wooded trails. It kept him occupied for a long time, haha! He was searching for chipmunks. So sweet.

Mom gets all the credit for this smile… she was tossing the puppy up and down in the air behind me. LOL!!! I would say it was definitely worth the effort.
And I am going to finish this little preview with one from the garden. He LOVED hanging out in the garden- watching the butterflies and birds.

I am still working on many more adorable images from this session. They will be ready within the week!
Stay tuned for MORE upcoming previews. My WHIMSY workshop is this Sunday- if you want in, I can still register you. Send me a note at: jenlynnalder@aol.com or on Facebook. Also, if you are local and looking for some AMAZING Senior Portraits, scroll down a couple of posts to check out a few fabulous specials- good until August 14th.
Enjoy the day! The weather is beautiful here and I will be hanging out with my nieces and nephews for the rest of the day + a sleepover. Wish me luck
Hi Everyone! I am stopping in again this month to say Helloooooooooooooooo and to show you some of what I have been up to lately. This month has been filled with student lessons, self study and workshop preparation- along with a few fabulous clients. SO busy and SO much fun. But, every once in awhile, I like to make time for new things. Silhouette photography is something that I have done in the past but never really gave any thought or dedicated study to. I decided to research a little bit and see how they were supposed to “properly” be done. I was not completely prepared for a shoot but the sun was going down a few evenings ago… and my nephew + fiance were sorta near….. and one thing lead to another. They agreed to give me FIVE TO TEN minutes of their time. OK? LOL. Can you believe I, a photographer, am surrounded by people who love to do anything but get their photo taken? ha! Anyhow, the few minutes gave me inspiration and a little practice. Thanks boys- love you! Check out a few images from our short period of time together:

And this image was enhanced with texture and an image of another cloudy sky… it was “quick art.” I really enjoy silhouettes and have a couple of models lined up for next month to show you some of my “real” ideas. Stay tuned. I promise they will be worth your while. Oh, and, if you are an upcoming client…. feel free to suggest this option. I WOULD LOVE to shoot some silhouettes of your family. They are so much fun and result in such beautiful works of art. See?

OR, If you love the sunset but don’t care for silhouettes…. you could always have me take an image like the one shown below- taken on a different day, same hour. I absolutely love the mood in this sort of photography.

Next up on my list of Summer Stuff is my niece, Melanie. Yep, a muse of mine, of course. She is a busy girl but I was fortunate enough to get a visit last week. Here are a few quick snaps- it’s hard to believe she is ten years old already! whoa! And, what I am very excited about is that she will be participating in my next workshop… as a child model…for the first time ever. YAY!!! Its on August 15th right here in SE Michigan. I have a spot or two still open… and am very eager to include children this time around. If you would like to join us, please send a note to: jenlynnalder@aol.com. Its a workshop ideal for: Senior Portrait Photographers, Bridal Photographers, Engagement Photographers, Model Photographers, Children Photographers and anyone who like to add creative/artistic components to their photography portfolio. Parents/Hobbyists are encouraged to join us as well! thanks!

If anyone would like to join me at my next workshop- with KIDS AND ADULT MODELS- please send me a note: jenlynnalder@aol.com The participating talent is beyond AMAZING. We are seriously overloaded with a fabulous crew. I am SUPER excited about this one. The theme is WHIMSY- there will be beautiful faces, bold colors and energy all over the place…. you won’t want to miss this. Seriously. Don’t wait. Get in on this as soon as possible.
And…. awwww…… aren’t two year olds adorable ?

Thanks, Chelsey for a fun shoot!
In a day or two, I will post a couple more client previews. Stay tuned!
Yesterday evening I met up with a couple of the cutest litte fairies around- Adrianna and Maya. I have worked with these children before and was super excited to see and photograph them again. Their white dresses and fluffy wings put into a nature setting really created a classic, beautiful combination. Good idea, Mom! LOVED working with these two!
Of course, I am still working on this batch but want you to have a look at some of what I am working on:
The extra sweet and precious, Adrianna-

And her beyond adorable little sister, Maya

Playing near the gardens and in the woods….

And taking a little walk, exploring together…. as Fairy sisters!

Thanks for your help with the last one, Grandma! Hope you enjoyed the little peek!
I am looking forward to a fun, fabulous month of July…. my birthday month! So, stay tuned for some new announcements next week- including a contest, some specials and a new Michigan workshop date!
I am blessed. I love my job and my clients are the BEST. Seriously. Oh, and one of the really cool (unexpected) perks about being a photographer is that I get to see friends of mine from school days and meet their kiddos. What a treat! Not only do I get to create beautiful artwork, I also get to work with amazing people. My last session was with an adorable little boy named Julian, who just happens to be the son of an old classmate of mine. We met at a local park area on a beautiful sunny day last week. He was SO cute, well behaved and already has quite a personality. He is a people person for sure…. as he warmed up to me immediately and would shout out and smile to anyone who passed us by.
Have a look at some of our session together:

Per my request, Mom brought along this wonderful wooden horse from his nursery! Cute, huh?

And he is a generous soul! As you can see he always found the coolest things (like grass and pine cones) but couldn’t wait to give them to me…

And in return I just HAD to give him a little treat. hehee….

I hope you all enjoyed this brief peek into our time together. Rosita, there are MANY more in your private slideshow on my site. Enjoy them and keep in touch!!!
