Childhood Fantasy (Northville, MI Child Photographer)

November 19, 2010 · Fantasy (Fairy, etc...), Kids

Most of you know that I loveeeee art and really couldn’t imagine being a photographer without creating artistic imagery.  Yes, I do take “regular photos” like Senior pictures, model head shots, family photos, wedding images but………whenever I am given the chance, I do like to make ordinary portraits a little extraordinary.   Playing with a little face paint, a tutu and some grungy texture in Photoshop was the perfect way for me to satisfy my latest artistic urge.  Have a look at a few fantasy type images that Ms. Melanie and I created together:

She actually really loved the facepaint and refused to wash it off after our shoot together.  Cute, right?

If you’re looking for creative, fun images of your children- send me a message! I would love to work with you, too. :)

Body Paint Session (Northville Female Boudoir Photographer)

November 11, 2010 · Adult Portraits, Boudoir, Fantasy (Fairy, etc...)

Body painting sessions are a new little branch of my Boudoir work.  Normal Boudoir images are  awesome… sexy. classy.beautiful.  Body art is all of that stuff  PLUS FUN!!!    During the cooler months (Nov-Feb), I really do a lot of this sort of work.  Women looooove giving their significant others images that celebrate their womanhood- especially as gifts during the holidays and Valentines Day. Have a look at some of my latest work with lovely model, Jacquie P.  She is wonderful to work with.

If you are local and interested in a body paint and/or Boudoir session, please drop me a note!  I would love to collaborate!  These images make the PERFECT holiday gift but don’t wait too long to book your session! :)

Up next?  I have some online photographer lesson images to share soon, along with more Boudoir work and a modeling session. Stay tuned!!!

A little Drama (Northville, MI- Model portfolio photographer)

October 24, 2010 · Fantasy (Fairy, etc...)

I met up with Cara a week or two ago  to do some moody photography work for her modeling portfolio. She is also a very talented makeup artist that I have worked with who really enjoys edgier, dramatic stuff…. fun, right?  I think so!!

Have a look at the artistic shots we got during our time together by the lake….  I played with color toning and textures in all of these. We were going for a trapped storyline with these. Even as she breaks free of her bonds she still is isolated and distraught

Some close ups (you know I can’t resist)

Hope you enjoyed it!  Cara and I are working on a couple of upcoming creative projects, so keep an eye out!  They should be fabulous.  And, if you’re interested in moody stuff- let me remind you that my Creative Minds Spring 2011 workshop was recently announced and is less than 6 months away!  Now through the end of October only, I am taking $50 off tuition.  The theme is Urban Arts and Drama.  To register, send me an email or drop me a note on facebook.  Visit my site for more info!  I also offer online photography lessons so if you’d like to learn some of the artsy stuff, one-on-one, message me. I have some spots open for November.  You can read more about lessons and see some image samples on my site as well.

Whats up next??  Well, I have a  Fall Family Session, Urban Kids and Senior Portrait session to blog.    Looks like I will be blogging more than usual this week ;)   Stay tuned!!!!

Ethereal Art (Northville, MI Artistic Photography)

October 7, 2010 · Adult Portraits, Fantasy (Fairy, etc...), Lessons & Workshops, Senior Portraits & Models

On the flip side of moody dramatic photography, I also enjoy doing ethereal type pieces from time to time.  I like taking images to the next level, whether dark and dramatic or fantasy filled gorgeousness.  Last month I worked with two lovely models and make up artists that shows this sort of work using natural light.   Of course we did a ton of planning.  :)   Have a look- they are actually some of my favorite images to date:

With this look we were going for an winter princess fantasy sort of concept….

And with this concept, we tried to create art that was both free spirited and statuesque at the same time

Thanks a ton for stopping by!  If you are local and wanting an artistic photography session like this, call me!  We’ll set something up.  Or if you’re looking to join a workshop + take a lesson- message me soon.  I have limited availability at this time.

Stay tuned for some upcoming posts on: Male models, Boudoir/Body Paint and then a workshop!

A Delightful Duo (Northville, Fairy Photographer)

June 30, 2010 · Fantasy (Fairy, etc...), Kids, Special Promotions

Yesterday evening I met up with a couple of the cutest litte  fairies around- Adrianna and Maya.  I have worked with these children before and was super excited to see and photograph them again.  Their white dresses and fluffy wings put into a  nature setting really created  a classic, beautiful combination.  Good idea, Mom! LOVED working with these two!

Of course, I am still working on this batch but want you to have a look at some of what I am working on:

The extra sweet and precious, Adrianna-

And her beyond adorable  little sister, Maya  :)

Playing near the gardens and in the woods….

And taking a little walk, exploring together…. as Fairy sisters!

Thanks for your help with the last one, Grandma! Hope you enjoyed the little peek!

I am looking forward to a fun, fabulous month of July…. my birthday month!   So, stay tuned for some new announcements next week- including a contest, some specials and a new Michigan workshop date!
