Celebrating Spring

March 25, 2009 · Old Blog, Senior Portraits & Models

Spring is “officially” here. Yep, I live in Michigan so Spring weather can really mean a variety of things. I am most thankful for the days when the sun is out- shining brightly- with a subtle breeze and a warm temperature. I have noticed a splash of color fighting to be seen on the ground and tiny limbs in the woods. Ahhh… and that light. Yes, finally, it stays light outside past 5pm. I contacted Kayla Glazier, one of Michigan’s most gorgeous models, to accompany me on a Spring photoshoot. Our first location was at a woodsy area of a nearby State Park.

So fresh and uplifting after such a long, cold winter.

If Kayla looks familiar to you it is because I had featured her on my Project: Model Blog back in December. Or, you may have seen her at a local runway Fashion show, acting or in magazines. She is actually on the COVER of Birmingham Magazine with an impressive 7 page spread, too- for Spring ’09. I think she will go a long way in her modeling career and always have a fabulous time working with her. She is one of my favorites for sure!

We also drove out to an abandoned building for some shots -Check out below:

I am looking very forward to working with all of you this Spring, too. :)
Oh, and remember to keep those Little Punk Give-a-way Entries coming in… I will announce the winner on April 2nd.

Little Punk “Give-a-way”

March 17, 2009 · Kids, Old Blog, Special Promotions

Do you have a little punk???
The kind of child who will NOT let you get his or her picture… or the kind who gives a photographer a hard time! Sit back and relax. Let me do the work for you. And, best of all- the work can be FREE for you!!! What can be better than that? Let’s face it- even if you have a bit of a difficult child, you still want beautiful memories of him or her. Right???

Yep, it is a give-a-way! I am giving a FREE session away to one lucky winner.

To qualify, you must have a child between the ages of 1-13 who has a bit of “attitude” (at least some of the time). A little spunk to his/her personality…haha!!!! OR, You may refer a neighbor, coworker, friend, family member, etc… just be sure it is ok with Mom or Dad. :)
I am looking forward to doing some nontraditional types of pictures with the winning candidate. The session winner will receive an on location shoot with me, an 8 X 10 print, and 10 percent off all additional desired prints totally free. In addition, I will most likely feature the winning kiddo on my blog. :)

Some of you know this already but for those who do not I will fill you in. I actually have a degree in education and spent almost 5 years in the local school systems. TRUST ME- I can handle an hour with your kid. lol. I love, love, love kids. All kinds of kids. Plain and simple- even the difficult ones. So shoot me an email- and enter to win!

You may also refer someone else’s child. In this case, the person who refers will also recieve a free session ($100 value). In order to win a “referral session” you must be the one to send the email. Winners must book a session within 30 days of notification.

My Email: jenlynnalder@aol.com

Send the following information: Name, phone number, email address, photo of child (with age and name if applicable) and reason why I should pick you!!! Please title emails “Little Punks.” Winner will be announced April 2nd. All entries must be received by 12am EST on March 31, 2009.
Good luck everyone! :)

New Stuff

March 15, 2009 · Old Blog, Special Promotions

New Stuff is something I know I have to do when my 8 year old muse tells me so! lol.
I am happy to announce that her and I are going on a little shoot tomorrow afternoon- and it has been a LONG time since we have done so. So for those of you who have missed seeing my little Mel- stay tuned. It seriously amazes me just how much she has changed. Time flies!

Oh- and speaking of new…. isn’t this new little girl ADORBALE?? Baby “H” is one of the most alert and cooperative newborns I have ever worked with. And… awww… well she just was so much fun to spend time with. Remember, my “baby” special lasts the entire month of March- I still have spots open, so send me a message and we will set something up. :)

Forever Friends

March 11, 2009 · Old Blog, Senior Portraits & Models

Friends …. making memories that last a lifetime.

I honestly feel that we all should cherish those we have around us. No matter how old or young we may be! TRUE friends, best friends, friends who help us define ourselves. I am typing up a quick post to remind everyone out there that a friendship is worth photographing.
Take the time to schedule an appointment with me! I love to capture relationships!!

Friendships always hold a place in our hearts…but they do change over time. They change with time, age, location, situation, etc.. One of the best things you can have is a picture of you and an “old friend”, don’t you agree?

Make time to document some of the fun you have with your current friends- you will be so happy you did! And.. besides, these type of sessions are SO MUCH FUN! You are able to split the cost of a single session amongst yourselves! That makes for a super deal. :)

Also- If you are a High School Senior who would like to include a friend in your session, please let me know! These image sessions are fabulous memory makers.
